Operating a transfer or pressure pump when a storage reservoir is empty leads to mechanical seal wear and motor overheating. The MATelec FPC-11010 Low Level Pump Shut-Off Controller protects pumping equipment by isolating electrical power to the pump when water falls below the minimum suction level.
Level detection is handled by a submersible float switch suspended inside the water tank. When the water level drops below the set limit, the float switch contacts open, causing the controller to de-energize its pump power outlet and illuminate the front tank empty status lamp. Power is automatically restored once water levels replenish and close the float switch.
The unit connects to a single-phase 230Vac supply and switches pump loads up to a maximum continuous current of 6 Amps via an integrated general purpose outlet. The float circuit uses an isolated 24Vac low-voltage signal for electrical safety. The housing is a 200 x 160 x 95 mm polycarbonate enclosure carrying an IP54 weatherproof rating.
Setup is simplified through quick-plug connections that eliminate the need for internal enclosure access. The unit is supplied complete with a model 9006 float switch with a 10 m cable, a pre-wired 10 Amp 3-pin 1.5 m power lead, and external wall mounting brackets.
