For potable water level measurement across a 0–10m depth range, the MATelec FPC-12571-10-SE is supplied with 10m of cable. The model appears in the potable water hydrostatic level transducer range alongside configurations intended for potable, raw, ground and rain water measurement.
The sensing element is a ceramic diaphragm, and MATelec specifies measurement accuracy at ±0.5% F.S. An overload pressure specification of 1.5 times full scale is also given for the potable water range.
The electrical specification combines a 12–30Vdc supply with a 4–20mA DC output signal and a 10ms response time. Three wires are used for the connection, together with a breather tube. The MATelec diagram identifies blue as -ve and also shows red and yellow wires, while the breather tube must not be kinked or obstructed.
Protection is provided by an IP68 classification and a 316L stainless steel housing. The stated operating range is -10°C to 70°C, with vibration specified at 20g over 20–5000Hz. The cable is Ø7.5mm OD PUR polyurethane and operating life is greater than 1×10^8 pressure cycles. MATelec also states excellent repeatability, long-term stability and anti-interference ability, while the potable range is not suitable for sewage or wastewater. The dimensional drawing includes 100mm and 28mm callouts, while the installation diagram specifies 100mm and 50mm minimum clearances at the sensing end.
