Measuring a 0–1m depth range, the MATelec FPC-12573-24-SE is the shallow-range potable water configuration supplied with 24m of cable. It is listed for potable, raw, ground and rain water depth or level measurement.
The pressure-sensing element is a ceramic diaphragm, with the published accuracy set at ±0.5% F.S. The potable water specification also gives an overload pressure of 1.5 times full scale.
For signal transmission, the transducer operates from a 12–30Vdc supply and provides a 4–20mA DC output. Its response time is 10ms, and the electrical connection uses three wires and a breather tube. The connection diagram identifies blue as -ve and also shows red and yellow wires, while the breather tube must not be kinked or obstructed.
The 24m cable is Ø7.5mm OD PUR polyurethane, while the housing is 316L stainless steel and the protection classification is IP68. MATelec specifies -10°C to 70°C operation and 20g vibration over 20–5000Hz, with operating life greater than 1×10^8 pressure cycles. The range is stated as having excellent repeatability, long-term stability and anti-interference ability and is not suitable for sewage or wastewater applications. The dimensional drawing includes 100mm and 28mm callouts, while the installation diagram specifies 100mm and 50mm minimum clearances at the sensing end.
