For a 0–4m potable water depth range, the MATelec FPC-12579-24-SE is supplied with 24m of cable. It is listed in the potable water hydrostatic level transducer range for depth or level measurement in potable, raw, ground and rain water.
The unit senses pressure through a ceramic diaphragm and has a published accuracy of ±0.5% F.S. MATelec specifies overload pressure at 1.5 times full scale, providing the stated overload specification for this transducer. A 12–30Vdc supply is used to produce the 4–20mA DC output signal, with a response time of 10ms.
The electrical connection is three-wire with a breather tube; the connection diagram identifies blue as -ve and also shows red and yellow wires, while the breather tube must not be kinked or have its airflow obstructed. Its 316L stainless steel housing is protected to IP68, while operation is specified from -10°C to 70°C. Vibration is rated at 20g over 20–5000Hz and the cable is Ø7.5mm OD PUR polyurethane.
The dimensional drawing includes 100mm and 28mm callouts, while the installation diagram specifies 100mm and 50mm minimum clearances at the sensing end. MATelec specifically states that the potable water range is not suitable for sewage or wastewater applications.
