MATelec FPC-12596-225 Mild Steel IP44 1PH 6kVA Battery Back-up System

The FPC-12596-225 battery back-up system from MATelec integrates a 6kVA power inverter with a 225 A/h battery bank within a powder coated mild steel enclosure rated IP44. Operating on a single phase 230Vac mains input, the unit delivers a constant 230Vac output to pump controllers or alternative control panels during power interruptions. The enclosure incorporates removable gland plates and integral ventilation for thermal management, while padlockable AC mains and DC battery isolator switches provide lockable isolation for maintenance.

Within the enclosure, four 6V batteries are connected in series to supply 24Vdc to the inverter circuit. The system draws a maximum starting current of 36 Amps and a maximum run current of 25 Amps from the battery bank. Automatic changeover switches the output source from mains to battery upon supply failure, and reverts to mains operation once the supply returns. Battery charging occurs automatically while the mains connection is active, and the inverter screen displays real-time battery status.

Construction of the enclosure measures 800 x 800 x 300 mm and ships at 130 kg for the enclosure plus 150 kg for the battery set. Din rail mounted terminal connections accept the incoming and outgoing wiring, and a battery protection fuse sits within the DC circuit. Intelligent over-current protection with electronic sensitivity monitors the output, while DC battery source fusing and battery low voltage protection guard against deep discharge of the cells.
