MATelec FPC-12597-225 Mild Steel IP44 1PH 8kVA Battery Back-up System

Higher inverter capacity is required when the connected load exceeds the capability of 6kVA platforms, and the FPC-12597-225 provides an 8kVA inverter paired with a 225 A/h battery bank for this purpose. The single phase 230Vac mains input supplies the inverter and charges the battery set simultaneously, with automatic changeover to battery operation on mains failure. The output delivers constant 230Vac to pump controllers, Building Management System panels, or other critical loads.

Sixteen 6V batteries connected in series generate the 48Vdc supply rail for the inverter, differing from the 24Vdc configuration used in the 6kVA range. Maximum starting current is rated at 70 Amps and maximum run current at 35 Amps, reflecting the higher power throughput of the 8kVA platform. The inverter unit is housed in a separate enclosure measuring 650 x 250 x 505 mm, positioned adjacent to the main battery and control enclosure during installation.

The main enclosure measures 1200 x 800 x 400 mm and is constructed from powder coated mild steel with an IP44 protection rating. A padlockable DC battery isolator switch and battery protection fuse provide isolation and fault protection on the DC side, while din rail mounted terminal connections accept the AC wiring. The separate inverter housing contains the power conversion electronics and the battery charger, power monitor, and control interface modules.
