Automatic tank filling depends on detecting when stored water has fallen below an operational threshold and restoring fluid supply through an actuated valve. The MATelec FPC-12700 Tank Fill Controller uses a float-controlled 24Vac output to drive an inline solenoid valve and manage mains water replenishment for rainwater and storage reservoirs.
Fluid regulation is controlled by a submersible float switch installed within the destination tank. When liquid depletion activates the float switch, the internal control module energizes the 24Vac solenoid output to open the valve and commence top-up, illuminating the front valve open indicator. Once the tank reaches its high level, the float switch contacts open and the solenoid valve closes to stop inflow.
The controller runs on a single-phase 230Vac mains supply, stepping down voltage internally to power the 24Vac solenoid driver and low-voltage float detection circuit. The electronics are protected within an IP54 rated polycarbonate housing measuring 200 x 160 x 95 mm with integrated wall mounting brackets.
Visual feedback is provided by front-mounted status lamps for power on and valve open states. The complete package includes an external 25 mm female-to-female 24Vac solenoid valve, a model 9006 float switch with 10 m of cable, and a 10 Amp 3-pin 1.5 m mains lead.
