Variable speed drives change the way you control pumps, and the FPC-12741 is built specifically for motor mounted VSD systems. This single pump rain mains controller from MATelec provides the float switch and VSD fault interfaces while issuing the enable signal that tells the drive when to run.
The controller takes a 12Vdc input from the float switch to monitor tank level and accepts VSD fault signals through dedicated 12Vdc inputs. When rain water is available, it sends a volt free enable signal to the VSD and pulse closes the mains water valve. If the tank runs dry, a VSD fault occurs or the power fails, the enable signal stops and the valve pulses open for mains water.
An IP56 powder coated mild steel enclosure at 400x300x200mm houses the rain/mains PCB control module. The enclosure includes an inner door and removable gland plate. The front panel carries a rain/mains keypad with indicator lights showing mains and tank water use alongside system fault status. A system test/reset button checks pump and valve function and clears faults.
The included 25mm female/female 12Vdc pulse latching solenoid valve handles the mains water changeover side. Optional modifications include a 316 stainless steel enclosure, filter-blocked signal input, tank level meter and fill control, SMS messaging via ME-Link module, and alternative valve sizes.
