Submersible pump stations and basement plant rooms require high-penetration cellular alerting to dispatch alarms when equipment faults occur. The MATelec FPC-30121 SMS Alarm and Status Communicator uses a ME-Link CAT-M1 cellular module on the 700MHz frequency to deliver text message notifications and remote control capabilities.
The unit tracks up to 6 digital 12Vdc inputs connected to volt-free outputs on pump panels or level switches, alongside analogue and RS-485 Modbus inputs. When a fault or level alarm occurs, it sends SMS alert texts to a phonebook of up to 10 mobile contacts, offering repeat and reminder messaging options. In addition, users can send SMS text commands to switch two onboard relay outputs for remote pump control.
Operating on a single-phase 230Vac supply, the communicator includes an internal battery backup system that provides alerting during mains power failures. The electronics are housed in an IP54 rated powder-coated mild steel enclosure measuring 300 x 300 x 150 mm.
Field wiring is organized on internal DIN-rail terminals with a removable gland plate on the base. The panel includes a pre-fitted vandal-resistant external antenna, battery backup circuitry, and a 10 Amp 3-pin 1.5 m power supply lead.
