Traditional float switch installations in wet wells and sumps require individual mounting of each float, separate conduit runs, and careful wiring to avoid tangles and signal crosstalk, and the FSW-12547 multi level float tree consolidates three floats into a single pre-configured assembly to reduce installation complexity. The tree uses mechanically activated snap action N/O contacts that close on rise, with each float positioned at a defined level along the cable to establish the low, stop, start, and high level setpoints required by pump controllers.
Each float is constructed from polypropylene housing material with a horizontal pivot point that provides switching accuracy and consistency regardless of flow-induced movement in the wet well. The floats are weighted to resist flow induced travel, reducing the tangling, conduit routing, and wire identification problems associated with individual float installations. A resin filled and potted connection at the cable entry point provides IP68 rated submersibility for continuous underwater service.
Electrical ratings include a maximum voltage of 250Vac at 50/60 Hz and a maximum run current of 6 Amps resistive. The contact type is mechanically activated snap action N/O, configured to close on liquid level rise. Cable construction uses neoprene rubber for the float leads and polyvinyl chloride for the multicore section, with the multicore measuring 8 mm in diameter and containing four 0.75 mm² conductors.
