MATelec HydroSTART FPC-81243-E Mild Steel IP54 Single Door Three Phase 12-18A DOL Dual Pump Controller

To manage two three-phase pumps inside indoor facilities, the FPC-81243-E HydroSTART provides automated duty control. This unit is built inside an IP54 single-door powder-coated mild steel enclosure for wall mounting. It alternates active pump run times in drainage or transfer applications.

Operating on three-phase 400 Vac mains supply, the panel requires a four-core supply with neutral for control switching. Motor protection is managed by external thermal overload relays rated for 12 to 18 Amps. The bimetallic elements inside the overloads deflect during sustained overcurrent to mechanically interrupt the contactor coil supply. After a trip, a physical cooldown time is necessary before the fault can be cleared.

Integrated PCB DIP switches select between dual-pump level-empty operations and pressure-boosting configurations. Level Empty is managed by up to five float switches, while Pressure Boost is governed by up to three pressure switches. Duty alternation rotates the active pump on every start and after 30 minutes, or after six hours in recirculation mode. Starting sequences are staggered by three seconds to prevent high current draw across three-phase installations.

The IP54 indoor steel enclosure features three-phase switching contactors and a padlockable main isolator. Dual-pump keypad operation provides simple mode control and visual LEDs. Built-in alarms drive a visual strobe and audible buzzer alarms provide indication of system faults under smart chirp control. SCADA networks communicate via Modbus RTU RS485 terminals, and a volt-free BMS common fault relay is standard. Software safety includes low-level and 7-day pump anti-seize cycles.
