MATelec HydroSTART FPC-82141-INT Mild Steel IP56 1PH Intrinsically Safe Pump Controller

Hazardous area installations that require single-phase pump control with intrinsically safe float switch inputs are addressed by the FPC-82141-INT HydroSTART controller, which integrates intrinsically safe barrier relays within the standard HydroSTART platform. The barrier relays operate at energy levels that cannot ignite potentially explosive atmospheres, preventing excess voltage and current from reaching the hazardous area under fault conditions. The controller is housed in an IP56 rated powder coated mild steel enclosure with inner door for outdoor mounting.

The HydroSTART capacitive touch keypad provides indicator lights for system, pump, and input status along with level alarm indication. Six digital inputs accept float or pressure switches for level or pressure control modes, with the standard terminal setup providing low level, duty stop, duty start, standby start, high level, and system enable connections. Current sensing with selectable low range (0.1 to 6 Amps) or high range (5 to 16 Amps) provides adjuconsistent overload, undercurrent, and zero current protection for the single-phase motor.

Control functions include duty sharing and alternation, staggered pump start to reduce current draw, manual pump control with optional timeout, and smart chirp mode alarms that auto-silence after five minutes. Fault protection covers high level alarm, low level shutdown, low pressure protection, prime loss detection, and pump anti-seize. Modbus RTU serial RS485 connections allow SCADA integration, and a BMS volt free output provides a common fault signal to building management systems.
