As a professional dual-pump control solution, the MATelec FPP-82241 HydroSTART PRO coordinates two single-phase pumps within drainage applications. This flagship dual-pump assembly is enclosed in a weather-resistant IP66 grey powder-coated galvanised mild steel housing featuring a protective inner door. It manages heavy operational loads by alternating and balancing duty cycles.
The controller connects to a standard single-phase 230 Vac power supply at 50Hz, feeding the switching circuits and pump terminals. For motor safety, the board uses integrated current transformers mounted in the cable duct above the circuit breakers. This current sensing configuration provides dual selectable overload ranges of 0.1 to 6 Amps and 5 to 16 Amps. In this single-phase setup, one external current transformer monitors the active phase line for each pump motor.
The PRO controller supports selectable level and pressure modes of operation via on-board DIP switches. In dual-pump level mode, five float switch inputs regulate the pumps: low level, duty stop, duty start, standby start, and high level. Under pressure control mode, three pressure switches govern starting and standby sequences. It incorporates standard duty alternation every 30 minutes, recirculation alternation after 6 hours, or static duty where Pump 1 always starts first. Staggered pump starting prevents excessive current draw and reduces water surge.
The hardware layout features premium Schneider circuit breakers for individual pump protection. It includes a capacitive touch keypad interface with indicator lights for system and pump statuses. Visual strobe and audible buzzer alarms provide indication of system faults, with smart chirp mode silencing the buzzer after five minutes. Standard outputs include a volt-free common fault contact for BMS integration and Modbus RTU RS485 connections for SCADA. Software safeguards like low-level protection, prime-loss protection, and a 7-day pump anti-seize program ensure long-term motor safety.
