MATelec HydroWHIZ FPC-63220-D Mild Steel Three Phase 3 kW Variable Speed Two Pump Controller

Water transfer, stormwater and sewage applications with two pumps benefit from the HydroWHIZ FPC-63220-D, offering variable-speed regulation with level, pressure and temperature operating modes. Its 3 kW VSD rating runs from a three-phase 400 Vac supply, reducing excessive current draw during pump starting and stopping.

Users can toggle between level, pressure and temperature settings, with duty rotation balancing run hours across the two pumps. Adjustable duty sharing and alternation allow operating responsibility to be rotated between pumps, while bumpless transfer helps maintain smooth operation when the duty pump changes. In pressure-control modes, Pipe Fill gently builds line pressure, while jacking pump control brings Pump 1 out of sleep first, with the main pumps starting when it can no longer keep up with demand. Pumps are started and stopped in sequence to reduce excessive current draw and minimise water surge or hammer.

Housed in an IP44-rated powder-coated mild steel enclosure with removable gland plate and cooling fan, the panel includes pump circuit breakers, a padlockable mains isolator and a colour touchscreen HMI with logged data and diagnostics. Modbus RTU RS485 enables SCADA communication, and a volt-free common fault relay provides BMS signalling.

Protection features include high and low limits, no-flow, pump cycle protection and feedback-signal faults. VSD and system protection functions monitor operating conditions and provide configurable responses to faults such as overload, pressure, level, temperature, no-flow and feedback-signal conditions. Pump limiting can be configured where maximum flow or power requirements need to be kept within defined system limits.
