For dual-pump installations requiring the higher overload range, the MATelec FPC-63241-E/BMS provides 230Vac control with 12-18A thermal overload protection and BMS outputs. The powder-coated mild steel housing features an inner door that isolates power and control components, a removable gland plate, and a pad-lockable mains power isolator switch. Wear balancing is managed by a duty sharing algorithm that rotates the duty pump based on run hour logs to equalise pump usage.
Designed for a 230Vac electrical network, the control board governs pump contactors to activate the motors safely. Individual pump protection is provided by standard thermal overloads rated for 12-18A, providing thermal overload protection. Low-voltage control circuits operate on a circuit-breaker protected 24Vdc supply, isolating field float switches from high-voltage supply lines.
The module handles distinct pumping types, regulating level empty wet wells, pressure boosting, or temperature control. The control board receives an analogue 4-20mA transducer input alongside up to eight digital inputs for float switches, pressure switches, or thermostats. Multi-pump staging uses a 3-second staggered start delay and a 1-second staggered stop delay to prevent excessive current draw and reduce water surge or water hammer.
The colour touchscreen HMI on the inner door displays real-time system status, logged data, date-stamped historical faults, and analog trend graphs. System faults trigger an integrated visual strobe and a mutable buzzer alarm, with a mute function. The BMS hardware provides individual volt-free outputs to report power status, high level alarms, pump runs, and individual pump faults. System protective routines integrate transducer failure protection, cycle count limits, high and low level protection, and a 7-day pump anti-seize program.
