Designed to manage four pumps in water transfer, stormwater and pressure boosting applications, the HydroWHIZ FPC-63420-H combines variable-speed control with level, pressure and temperature operating modes. Its 11 kW VSD rating operates from a three-phase 400 Vac supply, adjusting pump speed according to system demand.
Additional pumps are brought into operation as demand increases to maintain the selected setpoint, then removed from service when they are no longer required. Adjustable duty sharing and alternation allow operating responsibility to be rotated between pumps, while bumpless transfer helps maintain smooth operation when the duty pump changes. Pumps are started and stopped in sequence to reduce excessive current draw and minimise water surge or hammer.
For pressure applications, PID control uses adjustable proportional and integral values to tune how quickly the VSD responds to changes in system conditions. Jacking pump control brings Pump 1 out of sleep first, with the main pumps starting when it can no longer keep up with demand.
A colour touchscreen HMI provides system and individual pump status, operating modes, logged information, historical faults, run hours, pump starts, trend graphs and diagnostic functions. Modbus RTU over RS485 supports SCADA communication. The enclosure is IP44-rated powder-coated mild steel with integral ventilation and a thermostatically controlled fan.
Configurable protection functions include high and low limits, no-flow, pump cycle protection and feedback-signal faults. VSD and system protection functions monitor operating conditions and provide configurable responses to faults such as overload, pressure, level, temperature, no-flow and feedback-signal conditions. Pump limiting can be configured where maximum flow or power requirements need to be kept within defined system limits.
