Water transfer, stormwater and sewage with four pumps are managed by the HydroWHIZ FPC-63421-C, providing variable-speed regulation with level, pressure and temperature operating modes. The system utilises single-phase 230 Vac input to generate three-phase 230 Vac output, with a 2.2 kW VSD rating with speed adjusted according to system demand.
Duty rotation balances run hours across all four pumps, with bumpless transfer ensuring smooth transitions between active drives. Additional pumps are brought into operation as demand increases to maintain the selected setpoint, then removed from service when they are no longer required. Sleep Assist Boost and Pipe Fill reduce pump cycling and gently build pipe pressure during startup, with staggered start-stop delays reducing water surge.
Proportional speed control handles level and temperature regulation, while PID control responds to pressure changes. Housed in an IP44-rated powder-coated mild steel enclosure with removable gland plate and cooling fan, the panel includes a colour touchscreen HMI, pump circuit breakers and a padlockable isolator. The touchscreen provides system and individual pump status, operating modes, logged events and diagnostic functions.
Modbus RTU RS485 provides SCADA connectivity, and a volt-free common fault relay delivers remote alarm signalling. Protection features include high and low limits, no-flow and pump cycle protection. VSD and system protection functions monitor operating conditions and provide configurable responses to faults such as overload, pressure, level, temperature, no-flow and feedback-signal conditions. Pump limiting can be configured where maximum flow or power requirements need to be kept within defined system limits.
Features
- Circuit breaker protected low-voltage control and input circuitry
- Pump anti-seize protection runs pumps periodically during low use to help prevent seizing
- Modbus RTU RS485 supports SCADA integration
- Pipe Fill gently builds pipe pressure during startup
- Volt-free common fault relay terminal provides remote signalling of active controller alarms
- Jacking pump control brings Pump 1 out of sleep first, with the main pumps starting when it can no longer keep up with demand
- Padlockable mains power isolator allows the incoming power supply to be physically isolated during servicing and maintenance
