Onga FreeFlo 28" Fibreglass Sand Filter for Large Pool Systems with Rotating Thermoplastic Clamp

Higher residential pool turnover requirements and larger circulation systems can place additional demand on filtration equipment during extended operating periods. The Onga FreeFlo FFSF-28-50 increases vessel size, media capacity, and hydraulic handling capability to better support larger domestic pool systems requiring stronger water circulation and dependable long-duration filtration performance.

The filter provides an effective filtration area of 0.39 m² with maximum operating flow rates reaching 340 L/Min under normal filtration conditions. During servicing cycles, a minimum backwash flow rate of 230 L/Min is required to properly agitate and clean the media bed before returning the vessel to standard operation. Media compatibility includes 210 kg of sand or a dual-grade glass media configuration consisting of 120 kg fine glass together with 60 kg coarse glass media depending on installation preference and filtration setup requirements.

Its UV resistant fibreglass tank construction is intended for durability within exposed outdoor pool equipment areas and chemically treated residential water environments. The supplied six-function multi-port valve supports multiple operating positions including filtration, rinsing, recirculation, waste, closed, and backwash functions to simplify ongoing maintenance operation. A thermoplastic locking clamp secures the valve assembly while permitting full 360-degree rotational positioning during installation to assist plumbing alignment. Included barrel unions further simplify pipe connection and future servicing access around the filtration system.
