Puretec Radfire R500 14W Ultraviolet Water Treatment System

A compact 304 Stainless Steel housing defines the architectural footprint of the R500 Radfire, which is specified for low-flow sanitation in residential or light commercial environments. This unit serves as a dedicated microbiological barrier for single-tap supplies or under-sink filtration systems where space is restricted. It utilizes a natural ultraviolet process to eliminate bacteria and viruses without altering the chemical composition or flavor of the treated water. The system is suitable for horizontal or vertical mounting within restricted cabinetry or dedicated water treatment racks.

Disinfection performance is rated at a maximum flow of 8 Lpm when utilizing a 30mJ/cm2 ultraviolet dosage, increasing to 14 Lpm at a 16mJ/cm2 rating. The unit operates on a 240v 50/60Hz electrical supply with a maximum power consumption of 18W and a rated current of 0.06 Amps. Inlet and outlet ports are 1/4" to match small-diameter tubing or dedicated filtration lines. The system requires a minimum UV transmittance of 85 percent and handles water with maximum hardness levels of 120 mg/L.

The internal configuration includes a 14W high-output lamp protected by a high-purity quartz sleeve inside the 64 mm diameter chamber. This model is designed for operation in liquids with temperatures between 0 and 50 degrees Celsius and maintains hydraulic stability at pressures up to 800 kPa. A water-resistant power supply protects the electronic ballast. The system features a ballast operation indicator for system monitoring.

Maintenance requirements involve an annual lamp change, with the RL2 lamp providing a rated service life of 8,760 hours of continuous operation. The system features a tool-free design for quick access to the internal components during periodic cleaning of the quartz sleeve. It is designed for treating tank water or mains supplies where a dedicated low-volume ultraviolet treatment zone is required.
