The Puretec TankSafe TK1000 is a highly effective liquid disinfectant designed to purify stored rainwater and other untreated water supplies. Formulated as a chlorine-free alternative, it eliminates harmful microorganisms while remaining tasteless, odourless and safe for drinking water applications. Ideal for domestic rainwater tanks, carted water, bore water and remote water storage systems, it provides long-lasting protection against contamination.
Using a stabilised hydrogen peroxide and silver formulation, TankSafe kills up to 99.9% of bacteria, viruses and pathogens present in stored water. Once dosed, it continues working within the tank to prevent regrowth, helping maintain safe water quality for up to two months. This makes it particularly suitable for tanks exposed to environmental contamination from organic matter, animal droppings or debris.
Each 1-litre bottle treats up to 16,000 litres of water at the recommended dosage of 65 ml per 1,000 litres, with a required contact time of approximately 24 hours for full disinfection. The solution breaks down into water and oxygen, leaving no harmful chemical taste or residue while maintaining a residual protective effect.
