The Reltech Platinum PLT-V5 is a premium Australian-made variable-speed pool pump designed for residential swimming pools and spa filtration systems that require strong circulation with lower energy consumption. Part of the Reltech Platinum Variable Speed Series, the pump uses an advanced permanent-magnet brushless DC motor and electronic control to deliver efficient performance with quiet operation.
Powered by a 1.75 HP variable-speed motor, the PLT-V5 provides high flow performance while allowing the pump to run at multiple speeds depending on the filtration requirement. The pump operates with three programmable speed settings (Eco, Medium and High) so the user can run low speed for everyday filtration and higher speeds for backwashing, spa jets or heavy circulation demands.
At different speed settings, the pump produces approximately:
Eco: ~147 L/min
Medium: ~290 L/min
High: ~385 L/min
These variable speeds allow the pump to significantly reduce electricity consumption—up to about 70% less energy usage compared with conventional single-speed pool pumps while maintaining efficient filtration.
The pump is constructed from corrosion-resistant UV-stabilised thermoplastic materials designed for long-term outdoor durability. It includes an extra-large strainer basket with a clear lid, helping capture debris before it reaches the impeller and simplifying routine maintenance.
