Industrial effluent and municipal sewage treatment require large-bore vortex pumps to prevent operating disruptions. The pump operates in municipal lift stations, heavy factory sumps, and wastewater treatment systems. It is configured to transfer raw sewage, heavy sludge, and industrial effluents carrying large solids and fibrous matter.
The electrical motor is a 5.5 kW, 4-pole Three-phase induction model running on a 415 V supply. Operating under load, the slow-speed motor operates continuously. The hydraulic configuration delivers a maximum head of Approximately 13 m and a maximum flow of Approximately 2340 L/Min.
The pump is equipped with a cast iron vortex impeller recessed within the widely opened 100mm casing. The hydraulic layout provides a 100mm solids passage, allowing solid matters equivalent to the discharge bore to pass with minimal impeller contact. This prevents clogging and winding of long fibers around the shaft.
The mechanical assembly comprises a cast iron volute casing, high-tensile stainless steel shaft, and C3 bearings. A dual-face mechanical seal in an oil chamber contains silicon carbide faces. Winding protection is provided by bimetal miniature thermal protectors embedded in the winding. The pump operates in liquids up to 40°C and fits TOS guide rails.
